Highlight on Doorkeeper Ministries

Hebrew Nation Radio’s Renewed program has given me an opportunity to meet (even if sometimes it’s only virtual) some amazing people in Adonai’s Kingdom. Kelly Ferrari Mills is one of those precious ones. The story of how Kelly and I first connected is a neat testimony of just how creative Adonai is — He will even use our “mistakes!” Who is like Him?!

One day in May, I prayed that Abba would send us (Renewed Radio) a great marriage testimony to edify and encourage the Body. Meanwhile, Kelly sent an email to Grace in Torah thinking she was writing to Dr. Hollisa Alewine of The Creation Gospel. Dr. Alewine is my primary mentor and teacher. I tag and link to her material so often that Grace in Torah pops up in searches when she is Googled. I forwarded Kelly’s email to Dr. Alewine, but I couldn’t help but to marvel at this so-called “mistake.”

Kelly Ferrari Mills of Doorkeepers Ministries wrote a book chronicling her courtship and marriage to John Mills. Their marriage testimony is beautiful and poignant as it mirrors the betrothal, preparation, and marriage that we have with the Creator. The Mill’s modelled their betrothal and wedding ceremony after ancient Jewish customs to teach others about how Messiah Yeshua is the Bridegroom that will soon return for His Bride. It was filmed live and can be purchased on DVD at Doorkeeper Ministries.

Kelly mentioned her book, Chronicles of a Kingdom Courtship, in her email meant for Dr. Alewine. I knew that this couldn’t be a coincidence, so I wrote to Kelly and told her about Renewed and that I had been praying for a marriage testimony. As a new Hebrew Nation Radio (HNR) programmer, I was unaware that she was also on HNR. (It’s a very small world!) Kelly’s program is called “The Doorkeeper Hour.” It airs live every Friday at 4:00 pm PST and is re-broadcasted every Wednesday at 4:00 am PST. I’m still in awe of how Abba positions people to where He wants them, at just the right time – all for His glory!

Since this “accidental” connection, Kelly and I have continued correspondence and we were blessed to meet in person at the recent Women of Valor conference in November (2017). Kelly Ferrari Mills is a brilliant writer, author, teacher, and worship leader. I am grateful that Adonai had our paths cross so that I can share her talent with you.

Kelly has many free teachings (written, audio, and video) and worship music that you can enjoy at Doorkeeper Ministries. Besides her radio program and website, she also maintains a blog, does mission work, and takes frequent trips to Israel. Talk about a Woman of Valor! Kelly is a true builder of the House of Adonai and a minister that you need to know.

At the heart of all her service, Kelly is a worshipping prayer warrior! The name of her ministry captures this essence beautifully. She says, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God because a doorkeeper props open the door to the heavenly realms, helping others to gain access into the heartbeat of the Father.” (Ps. 84:10)

I like to call Kelly a “Mother in Israel.” At a time when many are arguing over minutiae, names and spellings, calendars, and conspiracies, Doorkeeper Ministries is focusing on intimacy with Yeshua and the preparation of the Bride for the Bridegroom. Her gentle and nurturing spirit is a breath of fresh air to the Body.

Here is a sampling of some of Kelly’s work. I do hope you will share this Woman of Valor with your friends.

Renewed — Marriage Arranged by YHWH

Much More than Marriage…

Today Dorothy Wilson shared her incredible marriage testimony with Dr. Deb Wiley and Kisha Gallagher on Hebrew Nation Radio’s morning show Renewed.

We never know just what the LORD has in store for our future. Sometimes it’s the last thing we expect. We have all been hurt and rejected. We have all made mistakes and suffered consequences. We all need healing in one form or another, especially emotionally and spiritually. Dorothy’s story chronicles her journey from brokenness to new life. We were inspired by the unique way that Abba brought her emotional healing and how that led to a glorious Sukkot wedding.

May Dorothy and Tommy Wilson’s marriage testimony encourage you to follow the still small voice of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), to allow Him to heal all of your broken places, to renew your commitment and covenant with your spouse, to trust Him even when (especially when) things seem to be at the breaking point. You don’t want to miss this program!

The podcast is free for one week, listen here.

Renewed Radio — Marriage

This past week, Dr. Deb Wiley and I interviewed pastor and author John Diffenderfer about his book, The Marriage Commandments on our Hebrew Nation Radio (HNR) program, Renewed. Although I posted the interview on Grace in Torah’s Facebook page, I wanted all my readers to have an opportunity to hear John’s message.

John’s book uses the Ten Commandments as the model for marriage vows. At first glance, this might not seem exceptional, but after reading the book and hearing John discuss his premise, I had MANY “aha” moments. The Ten Words are, after all, the Ketuvah (marriage vows) between Israel and Elohim. Since God Himself uses the analogy of human marriage to explain His relationship with His people, why wouldn’t these same vows be the perfect foundation for a happy and healthy marriage? Listen here.

Here is an example of one of the Ten Commandments and how John’s book gave me a fresh perspective:

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. (Ex. 20:12)

How might this commandment be used as a lesson in marriage? Obviously, it’s talking about one’s parents. But what if I applied this same principle toward my spouse? How does one truly honor their husband or wife? If we thought of this commandment as a rule in matrimony, then honoring the other person results in prolonged days — perhaps a prolonged marriage?! One way we can put this into proper perspective is to think of YHWH (God) as the other person. How would I honor Him? I would certainly never speak poorly of Him around others. And, I wouldn’t shame Him or make fun of Him in public. If I wouldn’t do such a thing in respect to Elohim, then I shouldn’t treat my spouse any differently. The accountability level for each partner rises significantly higher after reading this book.

Honor dovetails into the commandment to not take YHWH’s Name in vain… This is just one meditation nugget among many. The Marriage Commandments is a foundational book. It would be great for couples to work through together or even in a couples study group in your congregation. Betrothed couples could especially benefit from its wisdom. It’s small and succinct, yet really provokes one to look deeper. Thinking and actions change for the better.

Marital roles are of particular interest to me as many of my posts are a biblical exploration of such. I encourage each of you to listen to the interview and buy the book. The podcast is free until Wednesday May 17th, 2017 and then it will be archived for subscribers of HNR. (Which is, only $5 a month for morning shows!)

Tune-in to Hebrew Nation Radio on Wednesday mornings (11am-1pm EST) to hear some powerful testimonies from everyday people and interviews with authors and teachers in Hebraic Roots. If you have a testimony you’d like to share contact me at gracentorah at gmail.com
