“Here Comes That Dreamer!”

They said to one another, “Here comes that dreamer!” Gen. 37:19 (HCSB)

I was honored to have Bonnie Manning (aka Tekoa Manning) join me this month to discuss the importance of dreams. We discussed what the Bible says about dreams (especially those of Joseph, the “Master of Dreams”), common dream symbols, why your dreams matter, and more!

Kislev is the dubbed “The Month of Dreams,” as nine of the ten dreams recorded in the Torah are read during this month. As the ninth month, it and dreams are “pregnant” with meaning. (See this article for a look at the spiritual aspects of nine, or this one for numbers in general.)

Sweet Dreams! And may your ninth month be blessed!

A Blessing For Dreams (Hatavat Chalom)

King of the Universe, I am Yours and my dreams are Yours. I have dreamt a dream and I do not know what it is. Whether I have dreamt about myself, or my companions have dreamt about me, or I have dreamt about others, if they are good dreams, confirm them and reinforce them like the dreams of Joseph, and if they require a remedy, heal them, as the waters of Marah were healed by Moses, and as Miriam was healed of her leprosy and Hezekiah of his sickness, and the waters of Jericho by Elisha. As you have changed the curse of the wicked Balaam into a blessing, so too, change all my dreams into something good for me.

Mighty One on high, abiding in power, You are peace and Your name is Peace. May it be Your will to bestow peace on us.

Thank you Kisha and Tekoa for your encouragement and insight of the dreamworld. I am so uplifted in my spirit to realize the potential in this mysterious and so very personal connection to Abba. I watched the videos about Kislev a few days ago and as we read the Torah portion last night (Jacob’s dream at Beit El) I encouraged my girls to pay more attention to their dreams, to keep a journal and seek interpretation. This podcast helped me decipher some elements from a dream I remembered upon waking this very morning! How I love Him, His ways and how powerfully we can effect each other when we are willing to share! Blessing the work of your hands, Shalom!

    • Thank you so much for taking the time to comment with these words of encouragement, Ariel! It blesses me so! I pray Abba continues to give you and your family dreams AND their interpretation. They are so very intimate, aren’t they? He knows us all better than we know ourselves. His eye is on each one of us, and He truly cares. And yes, His Love – Amazing! May Adonai continue to bless and keep you and yours.

Wow. Love this! You guys have helped me tremendously in learning about dreams, and helped me learn the interpretation of a few of mine! There are many I still don’t understand, but now they begin to unravel. Even dreams I had years ago are being brought back to my memory, I believe, for such a time as this. I have seen that Abba was telling me years ago what would happen in my life in the future. I’ve had great dreams, and a few warning dreams. I’m still a work in progress, but I believe that He is beginning to show me my place in this world, and the work He has for me. Thank you ladies, for everything you do! Love you both!!

    • Thank you, Cheri! You are such an inspiration. I pray for you guys often, and I know somehow He will one day rectify and give meaning to the great fiery trials that we face. May Adonai bless you and keep you in perfect peace.

  4. What a blessing this discussion is to me. Thank you both for sharing of your time and wisdom. I have often dismissed the dreams that are strange, discouraging or just repeats. The fact that He is using all of my dreams had not occurred to me. My eyes have been opened. Looking forward to how He will speak now that I have this new perspective. Bless you both!

I really enjoyed your podcast! The last two minutes were eye opening about how sometimes people tell us about their dreams because they know our walk! What a gift!

I’m a dreamer. I’ve been seeing dreams and visions for the last 38 years of my life. When I was 19 years old Jesus called me out of the darkness into his light. At 20 years old I was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. Along with the Word of God, God uses dreams and visions for instruction, reproof and declaring things. But for the last 38 years I had a conflict. Works based salvation, works mixed with grace salvation conflicted the things that Jesus Christ was showing me. A few months ago I stumbled upon a minister who teaches on the Gospel of Grace and to stay away from the works based religion. I made a decision that I would labor to rest in the finished work of Christ and stay away from works based religion. When I done that all the dreams, visions, the revelation of the Word of God and the times that God has spoken to me in a small still voice came together in harmony as a well oiled machine. Through this decision even a dream that I had last year, has given me the understanding of that dream.

    • Shalom fellow dreamer!

I’m sorry you struggled with a works based salvation. Man’s natural inclination is to try to save himself (herself). But, we learn from the very beginning, in the creation week, Yeshua’s (Jesus’) model. We are to rest (in Him) first! Amen! He is our rest and salvation. May Adonai continue to show you the wondrous things in His Torah.
